With the Winter upon us, it is increasingly more difficult to find a great mix of fruit. My solution to that problem has been to eat more of the types of fruit that are currently available. For instance, my local supermarket has lots of berries – raspberries, black berries, and blue berries – all still available.
Rather than augmenting my meal with a few different types of fruits, I have just been eating more of the more accessible fruits. It’s worked out perfectly fine for me and although I miss peaches and plums (and figs, and kiwi…), I’ve adjusted. There’s also the added extra benefit of anti-oxidants in all of the berries!
The summer will be here before we know it and all of our favorite fruits and veggies will be back in season but for now, find a few good types of fruit and rely on them!
